Średniowiecze Polskie i Powszechne

The journal “Średniowiecze Polskie i Powszechne” (Polish and General Medieval Times) is published by Institute of History, Silesian University in Katowice and edited by members of Chair of Medieval History. The first volume was published in 1999, edited by Professor Idzi Panic, head of Chair of Medieval History. With release of second volume (2002) Professor Jerzy Sperka was introduced as second editor in chief. Following volumes were released in 2004 and 2007 and from then regularly in annual intervals. Due to ISSN regulations of the National Library in Warsaw, numbering of volumes and the title of the journal were slightly changed (big capitals and quotation marks included). “Polish and General Medieval Times” is now on the official list of scientific journals of Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education. These formal changes resulted with extension of journal’s profile (including now reviews, reports and debates). The journal is devoted to various strands of medieval studies in Poland and beyond. The list of contributors includes scholars from both Poland and abroad. Papers are published in Polish, English, German, French, Czech, Russian and Ukrainian.
