Shipment time and cost

Time to shipment completion

The shipment time consists of three independent time intervals:

  • awaiting the confirmation of payment
  • preparing the items to be shipped
  • delivery time by the Polish Post

We prepare the orders to be shipped after receiving the confirmation of payment.
Besides, we need to inform that we shall await the payment for no more than 14 calendar days. After this period of time, we shall cancel unpaid orders.

Time to completion (from the confirmation of receiving an order to handing over a parcel to apost office) is:

  • in case of the PayU prepay – up to 4 working days

The parcels are sent at a post office only on Wednesdays and Fridays.
Letters are sent constantly from Monday to Friday.

Attention! The University of Silesia Press accepts no responsible whatsoever for the delivery time by the Polish Post [Poczta Polska]. The delivery time is entirely due to the Polish Post [Poczta Polska] and usually is about5 working days in case of low-cost parcel   and 2 working days in case of priority (express) parcel.

According to the Rules of Providing Postal Service to the General Public of the Polish Post
of 21st September 2005, § 34, Act 2:
„A complaint can be issued not until 14 days after sending a letter or a parcel.”

Shipment cost

The books you order are sent through the Polish Post. While making an order, you choose a delivery mathod (a parcel, letter, priority (express) parcel/letter etc.). The payment system generates the shipment cost that adds up to the total cost shown by your invoice. It is a lump sum (a single payment) depending on delivery address (the postage and packing costs), value-added tax), as well as the kind of mail, its weight and size.

An advance (online) payment has to be made for all the orders shipped abroad.  After receiving the confirmation from the PayU.pl system, orders are handed over to be fulfilled.

If the country of the parcel/letter destination imposes duties on the books ordered from abroad, all the additional charges are paid by a buyer.
