We consider as “ghostwriting” the case in which a person’s contribution to a publication was substantial, but he or she is not revealed as a co-author or mentioned in acknowledgements in the article.
As “guest authorship” (“honorary authorship”) we regard situations in which a person made no or insignificant contribution to a publication, yet he or she declares him/herself a(n) author/co-author.
To prevent the cases of scientific dishonesty (exemplified by “ghostwriting” and “guest authorship”), the Editorial Board thereby introduces the following procedures:

The Editorial Board requires from the authors to declare the contribution of the particular authors to a publication (together with providing their affiliation and specific contribution, i.e. information regarding the authorship of a concept, research hypothesis, methods, protocol etc. that were used during the preparation of the paper), however, the main responsibility is on the author submitting the manuscript.

Since “ghostwriting” and “guest authorship” exemplify scientific dishonesty, all detected cases will be denounced, which includes informing respective institutions (authors’ workplaces, scientific and scholarly associations, editorial boards associations, etc.).

The Editorial Board requires from the authors to disclose the sources of funding of a publication , the financial contribution of research institutions, scientific and scholarly associations and other entities (“financial disclosure”).

The Editorial Board will document all detected cases of scientific dishonesty, especially breaching the ethics of academic research
