Andrzej Łyda

Andrzej Łyda – prof. dr hab. anglista, profesor Uniwersytetu Śląskiego, kierownik Zakładu Translatoryki oraz Zakładu Orientalistyki i Językoznawstwa Ogólnego. Członek Komitetu Językoznawstwa PAN. Jednym z podstawowych obszarów jego badań jest semantyka i pragmatyka językowa, w tym analiza dyskursu ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem dyskursu akademickiego.
Zajmuje się także teorią przekładu, zwłaszcza przekładu ustnego, psycholingwistyką, językami specjalistycznymi i leksykografią. W ostatnich latach autor, redaktor i współredaktor takich monografii jak Extension and Its Limits (2014), Cultural Interfaces in Academic Setting and Beyond (2014), Dimensions of the Word (2013), Reflections on Academic Discourse: Studies in English Lexis (2013), Occupying Niches: Culturality, Interculturality, and Aculturality in Academic Research (2013) i Awareness in Action. The Role of Consciousness in Language Acquisition (2013).

 

Andrzej Łyda is a Professor of English and Linguistics and Head of Translation and Interpreting Department at the Institute of English, University of Silesia, Poland. He holds a PhD in semantics and pragmatics and post-PhD in academic discourse analysis. His research interests include spoken discourse, psycholinguistics and theory of translation and interpreting. He is currently involved in research on academic phraseology and popular science discourse.
